About NetChecks

NetChecks is a free, self-hosted network diagnostics toolkit: 17 checks - ping, traceroute, DNS lookup, whois, blacklist check, TCP port scan, HTTP header inspector, SSL/TLS certificate checker, geo-IP lookup, subnet/CIDR calculator, speed test, country code and phone dialing code dictionaries, a world clock, and French mobile/fixed-network status pages - plus a Dashboard that auto-scans your own connection the moment the page loads. No account, no sign-up, no software to install.

Why it exists

Most online versions of these tools are scattered across a dozen single-purpose sites, several behind a paywall or a sign-up wall for anything beyond the most basic lookup. NetChecks puts the ones people actually reach for day to day in one place, keeps them free, and - because the underlying code is a self-hostable Proxmox LXC installer - lets anyone who wants tighter control run their own private instance instead of relying on this one.

How it works

NetChecks is a server-rendered single-page app: every tool and every supported language also has its own crawlable URL (for example /ping/ or /fr/traceroute/), so results and documentation are indexable and shareable, not locked behind client-side routing alone. A handful of tools - the subnet/CIDR calculator and the country code and phone dialing code dictionaries - run entirely in your browser and never send anything to a server. Every other tool runs its check server-side against the target you enter and returns the result to you; targets are not stored beyond short-term rate-limiting. Programmatic access to every tool is documented and open at /api/docs.

Privacy stance

No tracking is used by default and no account is ever required. If this site is supported by ads, they are consent-gated: nothing ad-related loads until you actively accept the banner shown on first visit, and declining does not limit any tool.
