What is NetChecks?
NetChecks is a free online toolkit for network diagnostics: ping, traceroute, DNS lookup, whois, TCP port scan, HTTP header inspector, SSL/TLS certificate checker, geo-IP lookup, subnet/CIDR calculator, and a speed test, all in one dashboard.
Is NetChecks free to use?
Yes. Every tool is free, with no account or sign-up required. The site is optionally supported by consent-gated ads; declining them does not limit any feature.
Is it legal to run a port scan or traceroute with NetChecks?
Only use these tools on systems, domains, or IP addresses you own or are explicitly authorized to test. Scanning third-party systems without permission can violate computer misuse laws in your country; see the terms of use for details.
How does NetChecks detect my IP address?
The My IP display reads the public IP address your request arrives from on the server side, then looks up its reverse DNS, ISP, and approximate location. It also shows any private/internal IP your device reports, when available.
Does NetChecks track or store my data?
No tracking is used by default and no account is needed. If you accept ads, ad-partner cookies may be set - you can decline and keep using every tool ad-free. Scan targets are not stored beyond short-term rate-limiting logs.
